This is Joey Slye's (Virginia Tech.) kicking workout at Coach Zauner's 2019 Free Agent Combine. Joey came to Coach Zauner's Free Agent Combine on Sunday to first Qualify. He was so impressive that I qualified him after seeing him just kickoff and take a couple of field goals. During Tuesdays field goal competition Joey missed two kicks and did not get to the finals. However, I told the 26 NFL Special Teams Coordinators, Directors of PRO Personnel and Scouts about his performance during Sunday's qualifying. He came to Coach Zauner's Free Agent Combine to get Exposure to NFL Teams and Special Teams Coordinators and Exposure he got! He was definitely an NFL Prospect and I was happy to see that he received a couple of workouts. He eventually signed with the Carolina Panthers. He performed very well in pre-season and earned the right to be the starting kicker when veteran kicker Graham Gano was put on IR. Congrats to Joey and continued Success.
